LOMERON, DAVID, marchand rochelais, huguenot, né en octobre 1591 à Chinon (France) ou aux environs, de Daniel Lomeron de La Martinière et de Suzanne Georges.

David Lomeron était le neveu des fameux marchands rochelais associés des Biencourt, Samuel Georges et Jean Macain, qui l’envoyèrent au Canada en 1613. Il prit part aux démêlés de 1614 qui opposèrent les Biencourt à la Compagnie du Canada. Lorsque Lomeron fut de retour à Port-Royal en 1615, Charles de Biencourt en fit son chargé d’affaires. L’année suivante, ils saisissaient ensemble l’Ange-Saint-Michel, un navire de la Compagnie du Canada. Tout en continuant d’agir pour Biencourt, Lomeron fonda en 1617 une société comprenant Pierre Georges, habitué des voyages au Canada, et Pierre Garat, qui s’y rendit en 1620. Lomeron continua sa double activité jusqu’à la mort de Charles de Biencourt, vers 1623.

Après cette date, on ne sait pas trop bien ce qu’il est devenu. En 1627, il existe près du cap Fourchu (Yarmouth, N.-É.) un poste appelé Port-Lomeron, et Nicolas Denys affirme que Lomeron y posséda pendant quelques années un établissement, détruit par les Anglais vers 1628. On sait qu’il a travaillé pour Charles de Saint-Étienne de La Tour entre 1633 et 1636, mais on ignore à quelle date il était passé à son service.

Lomeron semble avoir quitté La Rochelle où, le 5 juin 1622, il avait épousé Jeanne Duquerny.
