MOUCHY, NICOLAS DE (souvent appelé Monchy, mais à tort), originaire de Lyon (France), notaire, greffier, substitut du procureur général et membre du Conseil souverain (1663–1672).

Arrivé à Montréal en 1663, ou peu avant, Mouchy fut nommé par le Conseil souverain, le 26 mai 1664, notaire royal et greffier de la Sénéchaussée royale de Montréal, laquelle fut abolie le 18 septembre 1666 ; il continua néanmoins d’exercer les mêmes fonctions dans le cadre de la Juridiction seigneuriale. Le 14 janvier 1669, il fut promu au poste de substitut du, procureur général. Il vint s’installer à Québec, apportant avec lui ses minutes, dont 6 seulement :nous sont parvenues, bien qu’il ait rédigé au moins 35 actes. Un an plus tard, le 13 janvier 1670, Mouchy fut nommé au Conseil souverain ; à deux reprises, le 21 janvier 1671 et le 28 mars 1672, il fut maintenu dans sa charge. Le 31 octobre 1672, il siégeait au conseil pour la dernière fois. Quelques jours plus tard, il s’embarquait pour la France, laissant vraisemblablement ici sa fille qui, en 1675, épousait, à Montréal, François Sabatier.
