GODET, ROLLAND, soldat, notaire et greffier (1651–1653).
En 1651, le gouverneur Jean de Lauson avait créé à Québec une cour de justice, la Sénéchaussée. Godet en fut le premier notaire, en plus d’y exercer comme greffier. Il reçut, du 16 janvier 1652 au 23 juin 1653, 19 actes. Ce « soldat notaire » – comme le désignait le jésuite de Quen – aurait été en outre le secrétaire du gouverneur. Mais nous n’avons trouvé aucun document corroborant cette affirmation de l’archiviste de la province de Québec. On ignore d’où venait Godet et ce qu’il advint de lui après le mois de juin 1653.
